Troops seizes N37m supplies connected to terrorism in Borno
Members of Operation In Borno state, Hadin Kai has seized N37 million and a number of cell phones thought to be connected to the funding of terrorism.
The north-east joint task force's media information officer, Sani Uba, said in a statement on Monday that the recovery took place near the forward operating base (FOB) Chabbal checkpoint.
According to Uba, when troops pulled down a car carrying three men and two women, they found almost N37 million hidden in bags. He stated that many cell phones that were thought to be linked to terrorist financing and coordination were also found on the suspects.
According to him, the interception is a component of continuous initiatives to disrupt the financial networks that support rebel activities in the northeast.
According to Uba, sector 1 military and vigilante groups conducted a nighttime ambush along a known crossing point that ISWAP militants use to enter Nigeria from Cameroon.
He went on to say that the militants fled and left behind logistics supplies they thought were intended for their activities after encountering the firepower of the troops.
According to him, the operations were conducted to obstruct the financial and physical networks of terrorist organizations active in the area.
Uba stated that Operation Hadin Kai is still dedicated to bringing peace and security back to the northeast and that the military high command has praised the troops for their professionalism and attentiveness.
