Turkish aerospace company attack leaves many dead, wounded
The Turkish aerospace and defence company TUSAS headquarters outside Ankara was attacked Wednesday afternoon, resulting in at least four fatalities and fourteen injuries.
In the midst of gunshots and a huge explosion, local television played video of multiple armed attackers breaking into the building.
They were photographed with bags and assault firearms. Although the specifics of what happened are yet unknown, authorities have called the incident a "terrorist attack." Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the president of Turkey, announced the deaths of two assailants, a man and a woman.
As of yet, no one has taken ownership of the occurrence. Attacks in Turkey have previously been carried out by Kurdish militants, the Islamic State organisation, and leftist extremists.
With more than 10,000 workers, TUSAS is one of the most significant defence and aviation firms in Turkey.
It creates, produces, and assembles military and commercial aircraft, such as Kaan, the nation's first combat aircraft. Prosecutors have begun looking into the event, according to local media.
