Two 'Okada' riders killed, motorcycles stolen in Ondo

In the Ondo state municipality of Arigidi Akoko, in the Akoko North West council area, two commercial motorbike riders were brutally killed.

Their assassins stole their motorcycles after killing them at various spots across the council area. One of the victims, Dada Jatto, 28, was reportedly well-liked by the local community as an Okada rider, according to sources.

Jatto, a father of two, was reported missing earlier, but a search squad organised by local officials found his disfigured remains three days later.

It was reported that his motorcycle and cell phone had been stolen when his body was found at Arigidi, along Okeagbe Road.

The informant went on to say that the assassins who crushed the second victim's head with a sledgehammer had lured him to a location between Ikare and Arigidi.

It was reported that he was able to tell anyone who encountered him in the pool of his blood about his assailants and the people who had stolen his motorbike before to his demise.

Vanguard was informed that one of the Killers was subsequently captured in Kogi state's border town of Akunu Akoko by a few watchful security guards using the stolen motorbike.

When contacted, Funmi Odunlami, an image maker for the State Police, confirmed that one of the victims had been murdered.

According to Odunlami, the two cases are now being investigated. She said the murderers would be exposed and forced to face the music.
