UAE bans Nigerians from applying for visa, rejects application
Nigerians are no longer eligible for visas, according to the United Arab Emirates' immigration authorities, who further stated that all applications are denied and that application costs are non-refundable.
It was learned that a message sent to its business partners in Nigeria, including travel agencies, on Friday contained the announcement.
The Dubai authorities announced that all applications were halted until problems between the governments of the UAE and Nigeria were handled, notwithstanding the lack of an explanation for the restriction.
All Nigerians wishing to go to the UAE must comply with the most recent decision given by the UAE immigration officials.
“All Dubai applications submitted are now rejected. It is general for Nigerians and approvals are on hold at the moment.
A source from Wakanow, who confirmed the story said, “It is true, it was issued yesterday. The Dubai immigration did not state when the ban would be lifted but for now, everything is on hold.â€
Speaking with an Air Peace customer service agent, it was learned that passengers who already have a valid visa are still being flown to Dubai by the airline. The spokesman noted that no problems had yet been brought up and that any modifications that would affect flights for Nigerians would be properly communicated.
