UK police arrest woman after three children was discovered dead
Three children were discovered dead at a Bristol residence, leading to the arrest of a lady on suspicion of murder.
At approximately 12.40 am, Avon and Somerset Police responded to a welfare concern report in Blaise Walk, Sea Mills.
A short while later, the small children were discovered inside the property and declared dead.
The 42-year-old lady is being held by police at the hospital after being detained on suspicion of murder.
Because of previous communication, Avon and Somerset Police alerted the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
Vicks Hayward-Melen, the chief inspector for the neighbourhood, stated: "Three children have tragically died in this extremely tragic and heart-breaking incident."
"My sincere condolences go to the children's loved ones and we will be ensuring they are offered support through our family liaison unit.
"We believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no further risk to the wider community, however, officers will remain at the scene to provide reassurance to anyone who has any questions or concerns.
"Over the coming days, residents can expect to see an increased police presence and we thank them for their cooperation during this time."
