Universities set 140 as minimum cut-off mark for 2023 admission
On Saturday, university presidents decided that 140 will be the cut-off score for admission in 2023.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) held a policy discussion on admission guidelines for 2023 on Saturday in Abuja, where the decision was made.
Universities' registrars decided during the meeting that no university should receive less than the chosen 140 marks, with the exception of 15 private universities who chose 130 - 120.Â
The minimum cut-off score for admission to polytechnics was set by rectors at 100.
Additionally, the cutoff point for college admission was set at 100.Â
At the meeting, the Provost of colleges approved the choice.Â
Oloyede stated that colleges would not be permitted to lower the minimum points thresholds set for enrollment in their programs.Â
The group decided that applicants shouldn't be denied admission based solely on their UTME results.Â
It was decided that students would be permitted to participate in all admissions procedures, with their cumulative scores being added before an admissions decision was made.
