University lecturer proposes to student in classroom
The leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and the administration of Abia State University, Uturu have responded to the recent marriage proposal made to a student in a classroom by a university lecturer.
According to PREMIUM TIMES, on February 14, a university lecturer surprised a lot of pupils by popping the question to his fiancée in her class.
Photos that have been making the rounds on Facebook show the lecturer, Wisdom Anucha, proposing to his hottie while on his knees and holding a ring.
While some students were busy filming and taking pictures, others watched with obvious delight as the lecturer proposed to the woman, who is reportedly an optometry student at the school.
This newspaper has learned that Mr. Anucha is a lecturer in the institution's sociology department.
The professor who made the classroom proposal to the youngster was condemned by many Nigerians.
Ada Ujaligwa, a Facebook user, claimed that the lecturer had acted unethically.
“I think it is very unethical and unprofessional for a lecturer to propose to a student publicly in a classroom surrounded by other students who were awing and videoing the show,” Ms Ujaligwa wrote.
If the instructor had done so in an institution outside of Nigeria, she claimed he would have lost his job "instantly."
