University of Ibadan ranks Nigerian's best university
According to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings published in 2023, the University of Ibadan is placed first in Nigeria.
In the most recent ranking, the University of Lagos is ranked second.
Out of more than 1,799 universities worldwide, the UI and UNILAG are both ranked 401-500th, according to the 2023 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, which were unveiled on Wednesday, October 12, 2022.
The University of Lagos is ranked 24th out of the 25 universities in the 401-500th category, while the University of Ibadan is ranked 11th.
Some universities ahead of UI in the 401-500th rank are: Ferhat Abbas Sétif University 1, Algeria, ranking 1st in the category; University of Ferrara, Italy, 2nd; University of Florence, Italy, 3rd; Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, Italy, 4th; University of Genoa, Italy, 5th; Georgia State University, United States, 6th; Université Grenoble Alpes, France, 7th; Hanyang University, South Korea, 8th; HSE University, Russian Federation, 9th; and Hunan University, China, 10th.
According to the publication, the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom is ranked number one, followed by Harvard University in the United States in second place, the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom in third place, Stanford University in the United States in third place, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States in fifth place.
