University student abducted in Kogi found in Kwara
Agents from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps' (NSCDC) Kwara State command have reportedly freed an Ayingba, a 400-level student at Kogi State University, who was abducted by ritualists.
According to NSCDC officials, Fauziyah Muhammad, a 19-year-old undergraduate studying English education, was hypnotised in Kogi before being abandoned in the state capital of Ilorin.
Residents of the Ajegunle-Isale village on Egbejila Road in Ilorin found the abduction victim, according to Umar Muhammad, the state commander of the NSCDC, who spoke to a select group of journalists on Monday.
"The residents seized and handed her over to NSCDC officer, Afolayan," the commandant stated, adding that the victim was found traversing the community naked.
He said that Fauziyah's terrible experiences with the kidnappers were the reason she was no longer able to speak coherently.
“We, as a command, have tried to comfort her with items of clothing as well as brief the governor of her plight.
“Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has promised to assist us with fuel to return her to Kogi tomorrow,” he said.
Fauziyah admitted during questioning that she had no idea how she had travelled from Kogi State to Kwara State, but she did remember: "One of the books I carried dropped and as I made to pick it, I lost consciousness."
Salihu Aliu, who claimed to be her uncle and was chosen by the family to act on their behalf, will be given her by the command in the meantime.
