VP Shettima touched down in New York for 79th UN General Assembly
To represent Nigeria in the 79th United Nations General Assembly, or UNGA, Vice President Kashim Shettima has travelled to New York, USA. His spokesperson, Stanley Nkwocha, made this revelation in a statement on Monday.
He claims that in the early hours of Monday, the Vice President landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport and was greeted by a number of people, including Nigerian diplomats, UN representatives, and Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, and Dr. 'Bosun Tijani, Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).
At the UNGA this year, President Tinubu had declined to attend. Shettima will head Nigeria's mission to the UNGA this year, where Tinubu has instructed him to make the country's national declaration and take part in a number of high-level meetings.
