WAFCON 2022: South Africa gets top awards
Banyana Banyana of South Africa, the newly crowned champions of Africa, won all of the prizes in the 2022 Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
On Saturday night, Desiree Ellis' team defeated the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco 2-1 to win their first WAFCON championship.
In the six games that Banyana Banyana played, Andile Dlamini preserved three clean sheets, earning him the title of tournament goalkeeper.
Together with Nigeria's Rasheedat Ajibade and Moroccan captain Ghizlane Chebbak, Hilda Magaia, who scored a brace in the victory over Morocco, finished as the game's top scorer with three goals.
The Fair Play trophy was also brought home by the Banyana Banyana.
Chebbak received the title of Tournament Player.
