War: Russia warns UK over the latest ‘destructive’ action, professes to respond harshly
Russia has warned United Kingdom government over recent sanctions against Moscow.
The Russian Foreign Ministry summoned British Ambassador Deborah Bronnert to Moscow on Friday and told her about her country's crimes.
Russia expressed its dismay at recent sanctions against the All-Russia State Television and Radio Company.
According to CNN, a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry said the ambassador had been informed of the unacceptance of such destructive actions.
Russia warned that continuing such actions will inevitably lead to the ultimate destruction of bilateral relations and damage to relations between the two countries.
The ministry accused the UK of imposing sanctions on the Russian media simply for reporting and interpreting world events.
According to Russia, these recent episodes did not conform to Western patterns and clearly confirmed the duplicity and cynicism of British politicians.
Russia said media freedom was "nothing more than a tool for solving market problems" for British politicians.
She further accused the UK and its officials of imposing sanctions and making "threatening" statements "riddled with lies and blatant rudeness" against Russia.
"The Russian side will continue to respond harshly and resolutely to any sanctions launched by London and will take retaliatory measures," the statement added.
