West Ham defender, Kurt Zuma, has been sentenced to 180 hours of community service for hitting a cat

  Kurt Zouma, West Ham defender has been banned from keeping cats for five years. Zouma admitted two counts of hurting a cat by kicking and slapping it in the abdomen and on the head respectively. This was done at the Thames Magistrate's Court last week. 27-year-old Kurt Zouma has now been sentenced to 180 hours of community service after he pleaded guilty to slapping and kicking the cat. 

The incident was filmed at Zouma's home and was posted on Snapchat by his brother, Yoan, in February. In the footage, he kicks the Bengal cat across his kitchen before throwing a pair of shoes at it and slapping its head. His brother later sent the video to a woman he had been messaging who raised the alarm. Hazel Stevens, for the prosecution, said Kurt Zouma could be heard in the video saying: "I swear I'll kill it, I swear I'll kill it." He declared that Zouma us ready to chastise and go tg4ough the penalty for the damage he caused.
