What you should know before upgrading to iPhone 14

The year's most anticipated product from Apple, the iPhone 14, was released. The new phones boast enhanced performance, an improved camera and battery, as well as brand-new, cutting-edge security capabilities.

The price of the new iPhone 14 is $799, the iPhone 14 Plus is $899, the iPhone 14 Pro is $999, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max is $1,099. Preorders are currently being taken for every prospective device.

There are many considerations when purchasing a new iPhone or migrating to the iOS ecosystem, with cost being the most important one. iPhones are expensive; even the most basic model costs $799, in contrast to Android phones, which start at less than $200.

Although the company claims that the iPhone 14 is an improvement over the iPhone 13, not all models are constructed to the same specifications.

The obvious distinction between the pro and non-pro models in the new lineup can be seen by taking a closer look at the lineup.

So, before you start adding up costs or whipping out your credit cards to rush out and get it, consider the following list of reasons why you should avoid the phone.

The characteristics of the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 are identical, therefore if you already have an iPhone 13, you may overlook the iPhone 14 with ease.

First off, the A15 Bionic Chip is the same chipset found in both the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14.

Although there is a little difference, the iPhone 14's processor has a 5-core GPU (found in the iPhone 13 pro) and the iPhone 13 has a 4-core GPU, providing marginally better performance and battery life overall.

Both have 12MP main (f/1.5) and 12MP ultrawide (f/2.4) cameras with Super Retina XDR OLED displays.

However, there are a few differences that result from minor hardware modifications and better software photography.

The primary sensor in the iPhone 14 has the same f/1.5 aperture and smaller 1.9-micron pixels as the iPhone 13 Pro. i.e., it can capture clear details in low-light images.

Additionally, the improved 12MP selfie camera now has an f/1.9 aperture, the same as the iPhone 13 Pro, enabling better low-light photography.

The iPhone 14 and iPhone 13 have very similar appearances. Both have glossy backs and are composed of glass and aluminium. Similar to the previous edition, the front glass of the iPhone 14 sports a Ceramic Shield for increased durability.

The dimensions are nearly the same as well. The dimensions of the iPhone 14 are 5.78 x 2.82 x 0.31 inches, and it weighs 6.07 ounces, which is a little less than the iPhone 13. (6.10 ounces).

Apple increased the battery for the iPhone 14 this time, but it is not a major improvement over the iPhone 13.

The new cell phone comes with 3,240 mAh compared to the 3,279 mAh of the predecessor.

As you might expect, the larger 14 Plus has a far larger battery with up to 25 percent longer life than the iPhone 13.

However, we'll have to wait for the teardown videos to find out how much of a different battery performance makes between the old and new iPhones.
