Work-free day for PVC collection in Ondo– Akeredolu
Ondo State's Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the governor, approved on Saturday that Tuesday, January 24, 2023, will be a work-free day for the collection of PVCs in the state before the upcoming general elections.
Every eligible voter in the state would be able to pick up their PVCs at the venues indicated by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in their specific local government areas, according to Akeredolu.
In order to take advantage of the chance and receive their PVCs, the governor urged eligible voters in the public sector, the commercial sector, artisans, and other state residents.
In a statement sent by his chief press secretary, Richard Olatunde, Akeredolu advised the eligible voters to prioritize obtaining PVCs so they could exercise their right to vote in the next elections.
“The importance of the forthcoming elections can not be overemphasised. There is an urgent need for us to address the low rate of PVC collection in the Southwest.
“Beyond partisan lines, it is imperative that our people understand that the PVC is their license to enthrone desired political leadership.
“We are constrained to take this decision to enable our people to take this advantage and collect their PVCs. It’s important that we all exercise our civic responsibilities,†the statement read.
