Xiaomi 12 Pro is back, features MediaTek dimensity 9000+ chipset

Xiaomi relaunched the 12 Pro on the same day it introduced the Xiaomi 12S series. While the Xiaomi 12S series got the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, the new Xiaomi 12 Pro comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+, another 4nm chipset that's benchmarked to be on par with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 benchmarks.

For reference, the Dimensity 9000+ has a single ARM Cortex-X2 core running at 3.2GHz, known as its main core. In addition, MediaTek equips the Dimensity 9000+ with three Cortex-A710 performance and four Cortex-A510 efficiency cores as well as a Mali-G710-MC10 GPU. Meanwhile, Xiaomi pairs the Dimensity 9000+ with a 4,600mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging.

Elsewhere, the Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity offers the same specs as the Xiaomi 12 Pro we reviewed earlier this year. As such, the handset misses out on the Leica camera tweaks offered by the Xiaomi 12S. Still, the Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity features the same Sony IMX707 primary camera as the Xiaomi 12S and Xiaomi 12S Pro, along with the latter's other front- and rear-facing cameras.

Presently, Xiaomi has not confirmed if it will offer the Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity outside of China. However, the company has revealed pricing for the device in its home market, where it will start at 3,999 CNY with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage in black and blue colours. Alternatively, there is a 12GB RAM and 256GB storage option available in the same colours for CNY 4,499 (~US$).
