"I give you the secretariat of my campaign organization," says Yahaya Bello to Tinubu

Kogi State Governor and presidential candidate in the just-concluded All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential primary, Yahaya Bello, has announced the donation of his campaign organization's secretariat to the party's presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The governor has also promised to mobilize Nigerian youth for the APC Presidential Flag Bearer presidential aspirations. Bello made this known when Tinubu paid him a visit to Abuja, barely three days after the APC presidential primary, as part of his consultation and reconciliation efforts aimed at preventing rifts within the party in preparation for the 2023 general election. Bello said in his speech, “The exercise (APC Convention/Primary) has come and gone. I am telling you that I will be that general who will be on the field to command the younger generation - because they believe in me in their numbers - who will lead them to the polling stations in every nook and cranny of the country, to make sure we win confidently. Never again will PDP lead this country.” He also praised the Tinubu for his contributions to Nigerian democracy and said the APC chief's experience sets him apart from the rest. The governor also donated his campaign office to Tinubu. He said: "Today I have collapsed my presidential campaign organization. I give you the secretariat of my campaign organization. “I learned a lot from the little talk you gave us. What the older ones see when they are in the valley, the younger ones don't see."

In his remarks, Tinubu appreciated the gesture and vowed to work for the party and the unity of the country. He referred to the governor as a "son" and praised him for fighting for the APC presidential ticket despite his youth. He said, "Thank you to all members of the Yahaya Bello Campaign Organization," Tinubu said. "You set all the signs, you were determined. But there is a difference between a tiger and a lion.”
