Yakubu Dogara urges Nigerians to pray for peace and tranquility

Former House Speaker Barrister Yakubu Dogara has called on Nigerians to pray to God for divine intervention to restore peace in the country.

Dogara, who said this while wishing all Muslim believers across the country happy Eid El Kabir celebrations, also called for a sober reflection on the country's current situation for a possible solution.

According to a statement from his media directorate, the former spokesman, through Turaki Hassan, stated that when Muslims in the country celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, they should remember those who are suffering and pray for the restoration of peace and economic prosperity in Nigeria.

He expressed optimism that, with divine intervention, things will change for the better in the country.

With regard to the ongoing election process for the 2023 parliamentary elections, the former spokesman called for issue-related politics by politicians in order not to further heat up the community.

He urged Nigerians who have reached voting age but have not yet received their PVCs to do so quickly, seizing the opportunity of the ongoing continuous voter registration through the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The former speaker urged Nigerians to continue to have faith in the APC federal government led by President Muhammadu Buhari as he believes the government has done such a good job of improving the living standards of Nigerians and will continue to do so until the end of the term will do.
